UltraStudio 3G Recorder

The UltraStudio 3G recorder from Blackmagic Design, the new capture solution with 3G-SDI and HDMI connections and Thunderbolt 3 high-speed technology, is extremely portable, a pocket-sized product powered by its Thunderbolt connections, so it can be used from a computer's battery or power source.

Ideal for streaming and capturing from any HDMI or SDI broadcast quality video source, UltraStudio Recorder includes 3G-SDI and HDMI in all formats up to 1080p60.

UltraStudio Monitor 3G and UltraStudio Recorder 3G are two separate products, one for recording SDI and HDMI video and the other for playback of SDI or HDMI video.

Compact models

The UltraStudio Monitor 3G and UltraStudio Recorder 3G are extremely small models that are perfect for portable tasks that do not require both capture and playback in a single device. Their low cost means that the customer can choose to add recording or playback when needed. A good example is the UltraStudio Monitor 3G, which is ideal for monitoring using non-linear editing software. A customer who needs simple recording can choose the UltraStudio Recorder 3G.

Replacing the previous Thunderbolt 2 models, these new models are equipped with Thunderbolt 3 which offers more features such as more video formats, more colour space, RGB video formats and lower cost.

UltraStudio Monitor 3G and UltraStudio Recorder 3G feature advanced, high-quality video technology allowing customers to go onsite for uncompressed and compressed capture and playback tasks with the best 10-bit SD/HD quality.

Thunderbolt technology

Thanks to Thunderbolt technology, which enables easy connection and incredibly fast transfer speeds, UltraStudio Monitor 3G and UltraStudio Recorder 3G can be easily moved from one computer to another and can capture images from turntables, cameras and live video sources and transmit them to monitors, projectors, media servers and much more.

They are perfect for editing, compositing, graphics production and unlimited broadcast and post-production situations where the best video quality and true versatility are required.
